Egg Hunt—FAQ's

Do people or locations have additional clues?
No. All the information you need to locate the egg is contained in the first and second novels. There is no reason to travel to any other locations. Please do not trespass or disturb anyone. The only location you need to visit is the final location that will be revealed in the paperback version of Inflection Points.

When will Inflection Points be released?
Inflection Points will be available on Amazon.com for preorder starting in March, 2019. It will be released a few months later. NOTE: Only the paperback version of Inflection Points has the information needed to locate the egg.

What can I accomplish now with only the first novel?
A lot. Think of the egg hunt as a two-part contest. To be successful, you need to finish the first part by being able to understand and use the unique coordinate system explained in the first novel. When the second novel is released, the paperback version will contain the final information you need to locate the egg. Those that have best prepared should be able to find the egg first.

Is the egg buried or concealed?
No. The egg is hiding in plain sight. You do not need to dig or disturb anything to find it. You do not need to climb anything or enter any structures. Once you find the right location you will be able to see the egg and easily retrieve it.

I don’t have a clue where to start. Any tips?
The egg hunt is a real challenge that will require several parts skill and some parts luck—similar to how Robert stumbled his way through the first novel. Think about what Robert figured out and what he seemed to intuitively know. The method for determining locations is real. Mastering how it works will be necessary and may require the use of technology. Even though there will only be one technical winner, you may want to work with friends that have different skills.

What does the egg look like?
The egg you are hunting for is solid granite, about 6” tall and 4” in diameter at the widest point (it’s egg shaped) and weighs about 4 lbs. The granite is mostly white with very light-grey veining. The very bottom of the egg is flat, like it has been chopped off. That’s where the phone number and code are engraved.

What happens when I find the egg?
Look at the bottom of the egg and call the phone number. If no one answers, leave a message with your name and phone number along with the code (also engraved on the bottom of the egg). Take the egg home, it is yours to keep. You will be contacted with more information about claiming your other prizes.

What are the prizes?
If you are the certified winner you will received (1) the egg, (2) $500, (3) a party for you and up to thirty guests at Woven Wineworks in Portland's Pearl District. See the Official Contest Rules for more information.
